Serpent & Dove is an absolute gem of a book." —Sarah J. Maas, #1 New York Times bestselling author of A Court of Thorns and Roses series Bound as one, to love, honor, or burn. Book one of a stunning fantasy trilogy, this tale of witchcraft and forbidden love is perfect for fans of Kendare Blake and Sara Holland. Two years ago, Louise le Blanc fled her coven and took shelter in the city of Cesarine, forsaking all magic and living off whatever she could steal. There, witches like Lou are hunted. They are feared. And they are burned. As a huntsman of the Church, Reid Diggory has lived his life by one principle: Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. But when Lou pulls a wicked stunt, the two are forced into an impossible situation—marriage. Lou, unable to ignore her growing feelings, yet powerless to change what she is, must make a choice. And love makes fools of us all. Don't miss Gods & Monsters, the spellbinding conclusion of this epic trilogy!

Brought me out of my reading slump

Bellnxybooks - March 2022

I really loved this book! Originally, I wasn't planning on reading it but then I had a breakdown while trying to find it (damn I'm dramatic) and I desperately wanted it for some reason... This book is a historical novel (which is recently becoming one of my favourites) set in a world of magic. The world-building is phenomenal and I felt myself being hooked to every page. Lou is a fantastic protagonist, her sassy attitude and witty dialogue is something that made me grin ear to ear constantly. She, unfortunately, has a knack for running into trouble but it always kept the story moving. I didn't think this book was going to be religious as it was. Usually, I get put off by religious content, but as a major plot driver, it was perfect. "The time of Axe and Sword is Now" by Sonya Belovsova from 'The Witcher' TV series is brilliant for sections of this book! As well as the rest of the soundtrack. Just put the soundtrack on repeat!
