the spirit of his nature is certainly captured in the pages

Sue - Paper Plus Masterton - November 2021

Perhaps you have participated in an art workshop led by New Zealand’s legendary artist Donovan Bixley? He’s popular, leading workshops for children and this unique book is full of his advice and guidance to develop your drawing skills – that’s an understatement…this is a whole course in one book and he’s been generous with his idea sharing. I was captivated when I first saw the drafts for this book and I am now excited to be selling this and encourage budding artists. It really is full to the brim and all you need to get started with an idea, develop the kernel of an idea and create the illustration from your mind. It’s at the top of my recommended books for children (and young adults) for holiday gifts. He’s a unique character in real-life and the spirit of his nature is certainly captured in the pages. Highly recommended
