a delightful tale to share

Sue - Paper Plus Masterton - November 2021

We held collective breaths earlier this year as we witnessed the large container ship that blocked the Suez Canal and of course the little diggers that came to the rescue to set it free and get the flow of freight moving again. We may have thought of the New Zealand classic ‘The Little Yellow Digger’ and this is the sentiment in the new book from Peter Gilderdale. Betty and Alan Gilderdale were the original authors of the Little Yellow Digger book series, Betty passed away in July and her son Peter has taken the mantle of writing new books. “While the people puzzled how to shift a boat this BIG, a little yellow digger came and just began to dig…It’s time for our favourite little digger to come to the rescue again! It was inspired by the true story of a giant container ship wedged in a tight spot, blocking one of the busiest waterways in the world.” A delightful tale to share with your young family members.
